Igbo Mandate Congress do hereby congratulates, Barrister
Suleiman Njoku on his elevation as the new Chief Imam of Owerri and Grand Khadi
Imo State following the death of his predecessor Alhaji Dauda Anozie Onyeagocha
who passed away on the early hours of November 12th, 2019.

Igbo Mandate Congress attested that the late Chief Imam of
Owerri Alhaji Dauda Alozie Onyeagocha from Amawom, Owerri area was a man of
peace. The ousted Governor of Imo State Ndubuisi
Ihedioha had attested and described him as a detribalized Nigerian, a
bridge-builder, who contributed immensely to the peaceful co-existence of
adherents of Islam and Christianity in the state in his condolence message.
Igbo Mandate Congress noted that the new Chief Imam, a
native of Umuediabali Ihitteafoukwu, in Ahaizu Mbaise LGA was selected by Imo
Muslims without rancor. Igbo Mandate Congress hopes the Chief Chief Imam of Imo
State will exhibit the fearlessness which the ousted Governor Ihedioha and
Justice Mary Odili all from Mbaise division, had brought to public service as
Speaker of NASS and Supreme Court Jurist respectively.
Igbo Mandate Congress appreciates Governor Uzodimma for
recognizing the new Chief Imam according to official protocols of public
service.
Igbo Mandate Congress asks the New Chief Imam to call the
Miyetti Allah and the Herders to order in Ifite-Ogwari and Anaku areas of
Anambra State where IMC have been having running battles with them. Miyetti
Allah leader in the South East, Giddado Siddiki had last week in a press
statement, accused Igbo Mandate Congress of creating ‘a theatre of war in
Anambra State’ and denied any plot to attack any town. While Igbo Mandate
Congress found the extract of ‘no attack’ welcome, herdsmen, yesterday, invaded
Ahiazu Mbaise with dangerous weapons, and the youth have arrested five of them
and handed them over to the police at Afo Oru for interrogation.
Igbo Mandate Congress has always resisted any attempt to
smuggle Islam into the South East through the back door using RUGA, Fulani
Attacks , Emirization or Marginalization and had intervened in Abia, Imo, Enugu,
Ebonyi and Anambra but cannot antagonize a willful and consentious conversion to any
faith, including Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Bhuddism provided the adherents shun
acts of violence and intimidation .
Signed
Rev Obinna Akukwe
Director General, Igbo Mandate Congress IMC
