Igbo Mandate Congress IMC have obtained details of a deadly clash between security personnel and armed bandits which reportedly occurred in Makuku, Kebbi State, resulting in the loss of lives of 12 MOPOL Police Officers seconded from Force Headquarters,Abuja to Kebbi State
According to information , 12 MOPOL officers and 2 civilians were reportedly killed during the confrontation when bandits attacked their security camp.Sources says that 17 bandits were also reportedly killed, while the bandits allegedly recovered the bodies of their members and retreated towards Zamfara State.
Igbo Mandate Congress preliminary investigations suggests that the bandits were first sighted around Sangeku in Zamfara State on their way to Kebbi State on another unknown special mission before they unfortunately diverted to attack the police formation in Makuku.
A day earlier, intelligence reports suggested that estimated over 200 bandits crossed into parts of Kebbi State on motorcycle.
Some of the bandits group were reportedly seen crossing the Kontagora–Rijau road, moving through the Maje area between Warari and Shambo.
The bandits finished the attacks and proceeded on their major target with the corpses of their slain and wounded members.
IMC was informed by locals that the slain MOPOL Mobile Police Officers were among the few that put in a gallant but short-lived defense of their formation while the rest of the team fled with the locals . Unfortunately, their gallantry was overwhelmed by the sheer number of the bandits .
IMC advises communities around the surrounding areas in Kebbi State to follow security advise from the military establishment and police and be vigilant .
IMC advises communities around Argungu, Zuru, Yauri, Kamba , Ngaski, Wasagu, Dan to exercise extreme caution.

Igbo Mandate Congress , Igbo foremost intelligence based organization, been informed of isolated movements of person's resembling bandits on reconnaissance mission along communities bordering Nsukka-Uzouwani- Nkalagu corridor since the 1st of August till 10th.
IMC warns community leaders within the said axis to report any unexplained night wandering and movements to the local vigilante to avoid a rehearse of what happened in Kebbi.
IMC expects local authorities and vigilante group and to act proactively and jointly , providing relevant intelligence before Nigeria becomes the next disgraced failed state in Africa .
