Parallel Ohanaeze is unstoppable as Igbo Mandate Congress Sues for Probe

The traditional ruler of Igbariam and Chairman Board of Trustees of Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly, HRM Eze DR Kelly Nkeli Nzekwe, has said that the parallel Ohanaeze is unstoppable.

Speaking with the Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress IMC, Rev Obinna Akukwe at Awka, the monarch said that there is no going back on the newly registered Ohanaeze. When reminded by Rev Akukwe that the newly registered group has been disowned and deregistered by the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, Eze Okalakwu Nkeli Nzekwe said that “there is no way somebody can get a PHD and the university will later withdraw it. The group we registered cannot be deregistered. Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly is not afraid of the CAC and we are carrying on our activities. CAC cannot intimidate us, we have passed that stage”.

War over Ohanaeze – The Sun Nigeria

When reminded again by Rev Akukwe that the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Elders Council, Chiefs Nnia Nwodo and Mbazulike Amechi have dismissed the body as bunch of selfish persons, Igwe Nkeli told the leaders of Igbo Mandate Congress that high level corruption, selfishness and greed is at the root of their registering a new Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

According to the monarch, “it is the deposed Ohanaeze Ndigbo that used Ndigbo to do business. They are busy collecting money from every government and groups while Igbo youths are suffering. They are using Igbos to make money and the records are clear. They have not attracted any meaningful development to Igbo land except sharing money”

Igwe Nkeli said that “Elders cannot stay in the house and a she goat will deliver with umbilical cord. There is no way we can sit by and allow Ndigbo to be used by persons with defined personal agenda. Enough is enough” He Said that the proliferation of Igbo Groups, including IPOB, is as a result of the failure Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to present Igbo positions properly”.

Igwe Nkeli said that they were called back to Aso Rock last week and met with Buhari and his men and expressed appreciation for the work ongoing at the Second Niger Bridge and Enugu Airport. They also asked President Buhari to decree more projects for Ndigbo so that the levels of unemployment and sufferings in the region will be reduced and the youth put into useful purposes. Igwe Nkeli said that Igboland needs more intervention than we have now.

Igbo Mandate Congress has decried the deplorable state of Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Secretariat in Enugu. In a parley with select church leaders in Awka yesterday concerning the viability of Igbo Presidency project, the Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress, Rev Obinna Akukwe condemned the pulling down of the fence of Ohanaeze Secretariate and the exposure of the nakedness of Igbo Headquarters.

According to Rev Akukwe “what I saw in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Secretariat was very deplorable. The walls are pulled down and the place looks unkept. It is unfortunate that with all the money Ohanaeze collects from politicians, including the N1.2 billion naira shared at Chelsea Hotel, Abuja in December 2014 and another N5billion collected to be shared in Enugu in February 2015, in preparation for polls, the body cannot apportion at least N500 million of the sum to renovate the facility”

He condemned former Governor Rochas Okorocha for not completing the white structure he embarked upon in the secretariat and called for probe of profligacy in the body. Rev Akukwe asked for truce between the members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Nnia Nwodo and the one pioneered by Igwe Nkeli Nzekwe so that the Igbo Presidency Project will not be truncated from within.

Igbo Mandate Congress learnt that the parallel Ohanaeze Ndigbo is led by Igwe Nkeli Nzekwe (Chairman Board of Trustees), Barrister Basil Onyeachonam Onuorah (President Genreral), Barrister Arthur Chukwu (Secretary General) Dikeoha Hon Kingsley Nnalue (Publicity Secretary) and Barrister Emejulu Okpalaukwu (Igbo Security Adviser)

2023 Presidency :Why Tinubu must not be dumped by Buhari

Written by Obinna Akukwe

Bola Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu, must not be abandoned by President Buhari and his cronies, if Nigeria will remain one by 2023. Bola Tinubu, the erstwhile governor of Lagos State is also the godfather of Lagos politics, having installed three governors in succession-Raji Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode and Sanwo Olu.

How I replaced Jonathan with Buhari - Tinubu | TheCapital
Tinubu was among the three governors who refused to do the biddings of  Ex-President  Obasanjo  when the fear of the Ota farmer amongst governors was the beginning of wisdom-Dariye, Alameseigha, Fayose, Ngige  had tales to tell after collusion with the Obasanjo locomotive.

Tinubu was the godfather of Lagos who deployed high propaganda machinery to deliver Buhari from the most vicious arsenal of media henchmen assembled by Goodluck Jonathan and unleashed against him in 2014 including Femi Fani Kayode, Olisa Metuh, Reno Omokri and Nnamdi Kanu among others. Buhari was labeled a Boko Haram sponsor, Jihadist, Terrorist, Child Rapist whose aim is to Islamize Nigeria on the order of Uthman Dan Fodio.

Magu Probe: Buhari and Unrecovered $142 billion stolen Funds

Written by Obinna Akukwe

President Buhari deserves commendation for the probe of head of Nigeria’s anti-corruption EFCC Unit., Ibrahim Magu for failure to recover much of the estimated $142-150 billion stolen under Jonathan.  I have numerous evidences of how the EFCC top shots are relooting funds. These evidences are not yet in public domain, including the transfer of seized funds from banks to some individuals.

The sack of Okoi Obono-Obla -led Assets Recovery Panel is fallout of battle between Magu, Malami, Osinbajo and Kyari over control of the recovered assets. The facts are very disgraceful and I prefer to watch the situation unfold.
I was about releasing report on the corruption in EFCC when I heard that Ayo Salami, an incorruptible Yoruba former Justice of Court of Appeal has been appointed to head the panel. With Justice Salami in charge, Magu and his cohorts cannot go scot free. Buhari approves suspension of Magu [ARTICLE] - Pulse Nigeria

The same Justice Salami that was hounded by the corrupt PDP under Jonathan, and illegally suspended for his anti electoral corruption stance, is now investigating a key government official.

I commend Buhari for this probe, and it has given us hope that this Fulani man, surrounded by corrupt persons, have finally woken up from the spells and incantations against him to fulfil his electoral promises.

Nigerian Celebrities and Rape

Written by Obinna Akukwe

Celebrities worldwide have been associated with rape culture, and Nigerian celebrities are not an exception. The difference is that rape cases involving Nigerian celebrities are variously underreported because admirers of the musician, artist, actor or pastor, usually talks down on the rape accuser.

Celebrities in the United States convicted of rape case include Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein who has been found guilty of two counts in his sexual assault trial and more women are still accusing him of rape as at last month.
Ghanaian lady sets stage on fire as she flashes her panties while ...
Celebrity chef John Besh  was forced to resign from  his company in 2017 after it was revealed in an investigation by The Times-Picayune and NOLA.com that 25 women including current and former employees, said they were victims of sexual harassment while working for the Besh Restaurant Group.

Writer and comedian Louis C.K. was accused of sexual misconduct by five women and this led to a big disgrace for the man and his many shows in the US, since 2017.
Since the uproar over rape cases in Nigeria, following the rape and murder of Uwaila Omozuwa, an undergraduate of University of Benin, in Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ikpoba Hill, Benin and other murder and rape cases occurring almost simultaneously, lots of women in Nigeria have accused some celebrities of rape.

Dbanj Rape Accuser's Painful Ordeal with the Police

Written by Obinna Akukwe

The lady who accused Dbanj of rape has finally   opened up on her ordeal with the Nigerian police. This is barely thirty six hours after I released an informed report on the rape titled ‘Dbanj, Rape and the Police’   where I lambasted the irresponsible behavior of the police authorities in detaining her in police cell with criminals for over 24 hours.Seyitan, lady allegedly raped by D'Banj files criminal complaint ...

The lady, Seyitan Babatayo, had revealed that she was detained for 48 hours with criminals and released into the hands of Dbanj, to delete her tweets, hide evidences and proofs of the rape, and turned her into an advert executive for  the super star artiste.

I had argued in the report concerning the strange arrest that,

This is the height of irresponsible behavior of the police. This lady was forced to delete her tweets, and turn to advert executive for Dbanj new music which she was said to be promoting on her social handle. The police abandoned this lady in cell with criminals; she was probably slapped and maltreated by the criminals. The lesbian inmates in the cell might have molested her. She was abandoned for more than 24 hours without any bath, against the laws of the land, because a wealthy artist was throwing money around”

DBanj, Rape and the Police

Written by Obinna Akukwe

A popular musician and multiple award winning Nigerian artiste, Dapo Oyebanjo popularly called D’banj, has been accused by a lady, Seyitan Babatayo, of rape.  According to the victim, the rape occurred in 2018 at Glee Hotel Victoria Island Lagos.

According to the initial narrative by Benjamin Ese, friend to Seyitan, “D’Banj drove all the way from Eko hotel where he was lodged and came down to Glee hotel in Victoria Island at midnight 2.40 am and collected the spare key from the receptionist, got into my friend’s room and forcefully threatened he would walk her out of the room naked, kept his fingers in her vagina and repeatedly raped her.”

Ese alleged that Dbanj had earlier offered to have sexual intercourse with the said lady at the cost of N200,000 but the victim refused, and after the music show, she retired to Glee Hotel before Dbanj forced himself into the place and had unauthorized carnal knowledge of her.
 Dbanj-Seyitan-rape-allegation | PageOne
It should be noted that Babatayo probably never wanted an issue from the rape except that the culprit should apologize. Therefore, all these theories of the lady looking for Dbanj’s money are another theory from hell fire. The victim never reported to the police, she needed just  a remorseful apology to  forget the ugly incidence and move on with her life, and what she got from Dbanj and the Nigerian police was harassment, detention, intimidation and lawsuit.

A personal aide to VP Osinbajo, Nicholas Adesina, had refuted claims that Pastor Ozikpu was sacked from RCCG for participation in Sowore protests. Reacting to a piece on the subject of  Pastor Ozikpu’s  sack written by Columnist Obinna Akukwe, and made available to opinionnigeria, the personal aide who had severally defended VP Osinbajo on sensitive issues , said that Ozikpu’s sack was in line with policies of RCCG.
Pastor Adeboye of RCCG sends message to Osinbajo | Baba News
According to Adesina  “As for his (Ozikpu’s) claims that professor Osinbajo influenced his sacking, I’m surprised he didn’t even claim that professor Osinbajo influenced his arrest in the first place or designated two police officers to track him from his home and then arrest him as soon as he and others wanted to begin vandalizing public property or and endangering lives of Innocent citizens.

“In conclusion, I agree with the writer that the church needs strong-willed and upright politicians and activists in power and also in opposition but not thieves, looters, brigands, and all types of lawbreakers. Remember, we are enjoined to give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s”

Gates of Hell Swallows Lagos Churches as Govt Restricts Worship Centers

Written by Obinna Akukwe

The Gates of Hell have swallowed churches in Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja as Governor Sanwo-Olu suspends planned lifting of restrictions on worship centers. Lagos, Ogun and FCT are the epicenters and headquarters of the Orthodox, Episcopal and Mega Pentecostal churches in Nigeria.

Our Lady’s Queen of Nigeria Pro- Cathedral, Abuja, Our Lord’s Garden (Dunamis Glory Dome) Abuja, Mountain of Fire Prayer City, Deeper Life Camp Ground, Ibafo, Redemption Camp, Mowe, Canaanland ,Ota, Deeper Life Global Headquarters, Gbagada, MFM Headquarters, Yaba, Hoy Cross Cathedral, Lagos Island are principal churches situated within Lagos, Ogun and FCT. These churches have been under lockdown since March.Christ Embassy Lagos Zone 4 - Home | Facebook

FCT resumed Sunday services last week. Lagos is scheduled to start Sunday worship next week, but the government had shelved the earlier planned lifting of restrictions. Ogun State had locked down Saturdays and Sundays and there is no plan yet for restriction of worship centre.

The earlier guidelines included churches operating at thirty percent of their capacity, provided it does not exceed 500 persons. This is a big blow to churches like Winners Chapel, Mountain of Fire Ministries, Deeper Life Church, Christ Embassy, Redeemed Christian Church of God, among others whose membership reaches hundreds of thousands in a single day in one location. Children under the age of 15 and those above 55 years are barred from attendance.
