GAAICOM Calls all Igbo Hebrews Home for a 3-Day Prayer and Advises President Buhari

June 4th, 2016

The General Assembly of all Igbo Christian Organizations and Ministers (GAAICOM), foremost Igbo umbrella of religious leaders with track records, have once more called upon all Igbo Hebrews home for a ‘3 Day Walk into the Presence of God’. This 3 Day Prayer Walk is as revealed to the General Coordinator Apostle Dr PCJ Macjossy way back in 2002, and confirmed by other religious leaders cutting across all denominations is finally coming to fruition as the political and occult Igbo leaders and their foreign acolytes who opposed the divinely mandated prayers since 2002, are the ones now begging for its convocation.

This Prayer Conference tagged ‘3 Day Walk in the Presence of God” which will involve the entire Igbo Nation, has since gotten the support of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide which pleaded that the programme should come up after the Igbo Day celebration of September, to enable their full participation. The aim of the 3 Day Prayer is for all Igbos to get back to their Igbo Hebrew root and call upon the God of the Hebrews to stand on their behalf in these trying times of national transformation. The 3 Day Programme holds the key to unraveling the destiny of Ndigbo Worldwide.

Biafra: Igbo Leaders Disappointed with Buhari’s Military Delegation After 6 Months

Cross sections of Igbo leaders, clerics and activists who were consulted by the high powered military delegation from the presidency on issues pertaining to Biafra agitations, marginalization and the best ways to restore the confidence of the people of the South East in the project called Nigeria, have expressed anger that six months after the visit of the military officers, nothing concrete has been done to make the Igbo nation feel a sense of belonging.
Photo:( L-R Dr Dozie Ikedife, (Vice Chairman IPOB): Air Commodore Benson Omoyinbo(leader of Military Delegation), Barrister Okpalaukwu Okpalaezeukwu(Coordinator Igbo-Ohanaeze Integrity Groups) at the background )The clerics, igbo leaders and activists have specifically expressed their anger and worry at the Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress, Rev Obinna Akukwe, who played a vital role in ensuring that the meeting with the military high command took place. They many occasions, including series of meetings on rampaging herdsmen and build up to the burial of Rev Pa JMJ Emesin , Father of Igbo Pentecostal Revival Movement, in Enugu and Aguleri last week to privately express disappointment that all they demanded that government should do for the Igbo are yet to be implemented and they asked Rev Akukwe to take their complaint to the appropriate quarters.

Weeks before the Biafra protests ensued, the Presidency had reportedly mandated the military chiefs to seek means of resolving issues capable of turning the nation into a battle ground and destabilize the Buhari presidency. They identified the South East, South South and North East as areas where the destabilization of Nigeria could start but bureaucratic bottlenecks hampered their activities.

More than fifty six Bishops mostly from the Anglican and Pentecostal Blocks attended the burial of Rev Pa JMJ Emesin, Father of Igbo Pentecostal Movement at Aguleri yesterday. How Obasanjo, Obi, Udenwa Murdered 5000 MASSOB Members- Igbo Mandate Congress Writes UN

27th Nov, 2015
Igbo Mandate Congress IMC wants to bring to the attention of all Biafran protesters and agitators that the greatest genocide ever under the guise of stopping separatist MASSOB agitators was under the tenure of Peter Obi, as Governor of Anambra State, Achike Udenwa as Governor of Imo State and Olusegun Obasanjo as President of Nigeria.
Biafran agitators should hold these three men responsible  for killing thousands of innocent civilians in the guise of seeking for members of Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). Nigerian soldiers numbering over 200 were invited into Anambra State in June 2006 by Governor Peter Obi and in the process murdered estimated 5000 innocent Igbos in the guise of rooting out MASSOB agitators. This was done with the ever gleeful support of ex-president Obasanjo in the infamous operation ‘Shoot-at Sight Order’

During these periods that spanned till early 2009, Nigerian soldiers were on rampage at Onitsha, Nnewi, Oba, Ihiala and environs shooting, killing, and maiming anything that has a suspicion of being MASSOB. As the shootings were going on, real MASSOB members escaped into various dens while stranded travelers, unsuspecting trader and residents were branded MASSOB and shot. By the time the exercise was over, estimated 5000 people were killed and the affected families took the remains of their relatives and buried quietly to avoid being killed too by the rampaging soldiers. All these wickedness was at the behest of an APGA Governor claiming to be a follower of ex Biafran leader Odumegwu Ojukwu.

IMC wishes to state that the officers and men of the Nigerian Army should be taught the modern rules of dealing with civilian altercations, and should know that the frequent release  of bullets is now outdated.

Igbo Mandate Congress Condemns The Murder Of Over 90 Shiite Muslims In Zaria

December 16, 2015

Igbo Mandate Congress, IMC has condemned the murder of over 90 Shiite Muslims by officers and men of the Nigerian Army, over a traffic incidence in Zaria. In the unfortunate incidence sons of Sheikh Ibrahim Al Zakzaky were also murdered in a manner that seems unprovoked, bringing probably to six, the number of biological children of the Shiite leader murdered in related incidences within one year.

Igbo Mandate Congress noted that on the 2nd of December, nine protesters belonging to Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were killed while protesting the detention of their factional leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.  These protesters including two young girls did not pose any threat to the armed forces to warrant their untimely death.

Since the incidence Igbo Mandate Congress noted that no notable northern group condemned the murder of IPOB nine. Buoyed by the deafening silence of cross sections of Nigeria, the same incidence has been repeated in Zaria with unimaginable casualty.

Igbo Mandate Congress Commends Gowon For Accepting Igbo Son After 48 Years Of Abandonment

Igbo Mandate Congress, IMC, has commended Nigeria’s former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon for accepting responsibility for the paternity of his Igbo Son, Jack Musa Ngonadi Gowon, after forty eight years of denial, abandonment, victimization and slander. Gowon had in a signed statement two weeks ago, accepted paternity over his Igbo son, after 40 years of civil war.

Igbo Mandate Congress recalls that Jack Ngonadi Musa Gowon was jailed by the United States authority twenty two years ago, due to drug related offences. IMC believes that Musa Gowon was a victim of tribal hatred, frustration and rejection which led to loss of over two million Biafrans civilians between 1966 and 1970, including a torn love relationship between her mother, Edith Ike and then Head of State Colonel Yakubu Gowon.

Igbo Mandate Congress have initially made arrangements, as disclosed publicly, in the press release of November 25th to accord Musa Gowon, a rousing welcome, whenever he was released by the US Immigration authorities, en-route Nigeria.

Igbo Mandate Congress noted that Edith stood by her Igbo kinsmen in correcting senseless murder of two million people and sacrificed her prospects of being a First lady, in defense of innocent civilians, mostly children..

Ex-Nigerian Head Of State, Gowon, Accepts 48-Year-Old Son After DNA Test

March 10th, 2016

Nigeria’s former military head of state, Yakubu Gowon, has confirmed his paternity of a 48-year-old man recently deported from the United States.

Mr. Gowon announced Wednesday that a DNA test had proven Musa Jack Ngodadi is his biological son.
Musa Gowon, who had been in jail in the U.S. for 22 years, was pardoned by President Barrack Obama in 2015, cutting short the 40-year prison term he was to serve for alleged drug related crime of which he was found guilty on November 18, 1992.

Musa, a striking lookalike of the former head of state, returned to Nigeria on January 1, 2016, after the U.S. Immigration officials deported him.

He was the product of a romance in the 1960s between General Gowon, then a military head of state, and one Igbo damsel, Edith Ike-Okongu, who was said to have ended her love affairs with the ex-military ruler over the Nigerian Civil War and how it was being prosecuted under Gowon’s watch.
Edith was said to have protested the manner Nigerian troops had maimed and killed her fellow Igbos, under a government of a man she was in love with.

The son of former Nigerian military head of state Yakubu Gowon is due to return to Nigeria after spending 22 years in a US prison after being convicted on drug-related charges. It is believed Musa Gowon was released from the Taft Correctional Facility Bakersfield, California, after US President Barack Obama granted him pardon earlier in November.

The Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC)- which advocates for the Igbo ethnic group in Nigeria - has said it was arranging a welcome ceremony. The date of Gowon's arrival has not yet been disclosed. He is currently being held at a deportation centre in the US.
Who is Musa Gowon?
According to the IMC, Gowon was born in 1969 after his father had started a relationship with an Igbo woman, late Edith Ike-Okongwu.

The relationship allegedly ended during the Nigerian civil war (1967-1970) - also known as the Biafran war - as Okongwu disagreed with Yakubu Gowon - then head of state - over the role of the Nigerian army in the war. The army has been accused of deliberately bombing Biafran civilians and imposing a blockade that resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of civilians due to lack of food and medicine.

Nigeria Awaits Released Gowon's Son

27th November, 2016

Daily Post reports that the Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC) has disclosed its to made to accord Musa Gowon a warm welcome.

The IMC stated that it has informed its members in the U.S to guarantee that “this rejected son of Igbo woman, abandoned to a life of twenty two years in jail, due to acts not unrelated to her mother’s disapproval of indiscriminate murder of civilian by Federal Troops, is not left without roots.”

The statement reads in part: “Musa Gowon was born out of a courtship gone awry between former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, then a Lieutenant Colonel and an Igbo Girl by name Edith Ike-Okongwu while he was still a bachelor. This relationship between Gowon and Edith Ike ended in the heat of the civil war. It is widely believed that the relationship broke off after Federal Troops bombed Aba General Hospital with NAF Napalm Bomb on July 14, 1968 killing more than 500 patients.

Igbo Mandate Congress mandates Uwazurike to render account of stewardship

As crisis among the Pro-Biafra agitators deepens, the Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC), a socio-cultural Igbo Organisation, yesterday in Onitsha, Anambra State, posited that for peace to reign supreme in Igbo land, the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), which changed to Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), Chief Ralph Uwazurike, must render account of 16 years of stewardship.

Addressing newsmen, Director- General of IMC, Rev Obinna Akukwe, revealed that the splinter groups that include Biafra Zionist Movement, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Uchenna Madu- led Faction, among others were exploited by Chief Uwazuruike for 16 years.

He said: “Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC) and General Assembly of all Igbo Christian Organisations and Ministers (GAAICOM), had in the past three to four years been authorised by leading Igbo clerics and opinion leaders to wade into the feud between Uwazurike and his complaining lieutenants over mismanagement of financial issues with the intentions of ensuring that the South East is not turned into a bloody zone as a result of sharing formula. IMC and GAAICOM had expected Uwazurike to have appreciated our past interventions, and made his financial dealings with his boys more transparent so that his lieutenants would stop salivating and gallivanting around.”

Igbo Mandate Congress Condemns Multi-Billion MASSOB Business Empires

2nd December, 2015

Igbo Mandate Congress IMC has condemned the self inflicted break-up of MASSOB into two factions as a result of inequitable sharing formula of the Multi-billions of naira and millions of dollars accruing to the group over the years.

At this time when Pro-Biafra protests started by few IPOB faithful and joined by numerous frustrated and marginalized Igbos of South East Nigeria is drawing international attention to the sorry state of Igbo Nation, what is least needed now is the distraction of a MASSOB break-up.

The Founder and leader of MASSOB, Chief Raph Uwazurike was yesterday expelled from the body by a faction of the group, and sworn in a new helmsman in the person of Uchenna Madu, former National Director of Information. Madu was one of those who have served Uwazurike and MASSOB faithfully from the beginning and deserves better treatment from ‘Chief’.  IMC had learnt over time that Madu and his supporters were kept in the dark over the billions MASSOB was garnering in the name of Biafra. IMC had known over the years that Madu and his loyalists were the fifth group to abandon Uwazurike’s MASSOB on account of financial impropriety.

Rev Pa JMJ Emesin, Father of Igbo Pentecostal Revival is Dead : Igbo Mandate Congress Celebrates the transition of a gospel sain

Igbo Mandate Congress IMC announces the death of Rev Dr JMJ Emesin, father of Pentecostal revival in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

This sad event took place on the 7th of December, 2015 at our Lord’s Hospital Ukpor, Anambra State, a day after he agreed to be admitted into a hospital, at the age of 80

Until his death, Rev Dr Emesin trained  about eighty percent of notable gospel ministers from the South East before and after the civil war  and his input was instrumental to the famous Pentecostal revival which broke out in the South East in the early seventies when preaching with Bible was a taboo in the Igbo dominated South Eastern Nigeria..  Rev Dr Emesin was the rallying point of the young generation of vibrant, tongue talking  young men and women who abandoned the world and sought for Jesus as though there will be rapture the next day. He was based in Aguleri, Anambra State where he established a bible school. He lived an austere life and shunned all manners of pleasure while constantly crying for revival in Africa.

Release Nnamdi Kanu Now’- South East CAN, Igbo Mandate Congress tells FG

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the  South East has lambasted the Federal Government over the continued detention of Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. Speaking with the Rev Obinna Akukwe, Director General of Igbo Mandate Congreess, IMC in Awka  on Saturday, the Chairman of CAN South East. Archbishop Professor David Eberechkwu described the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu against the orders of both the Magistrate and the High Court as unbelievable and inexplicable. According to Archbishop Ebelechukwu  “ Nnamdi Kanu should not be held against the orders of the court. The government should release him to avoid further protests and death”
nnamdi-kanu-in-court
Explaining the efforts of clerics so far to cool down tempers among the populace, Archbishop Ebelechkwu siad that “I have earlier called all these leaders of IPOB, MASSOB , about five groups in all and the leaders of CAN in the South East discussed with them and advised them to pursue the path of peace and dialogue. It is saddening to hear that after all our interventions, the Nigerian Government has not respected either our mediation  and that of other leaders which has helped to bring peace by playing with the release of Kanu”
The hate speeches associated with Radio Biafra also got the attention of the cleric who described them as vulgar. According to  Archbishop Ebelechukwu“ the words Nnamdi Kanu uses is too vulgar, in my own view, but he is yet to commit any act of violence against anybody anywhere in Nigeria, as such there is no reason for keeping him behind bars especially after the courts have said otherwise”

Ohanaeze Ndigbo met with Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan in Aso Villa on Wednesday and endorsed his plan for re-election in 2015. The meeting between President Jonathan and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo was to assure the President that the people of the South East were behind his re-election plans. Chief Igariwey was the person who as Deputy President General of Ohanaeze Ndibo in 2011 rejected a N20 million naira bribe from agent of a presidential aide aimed at mortgaging Igbo interest. He has been under intense pressure by PDP agents to unilaterally adopt Jonathan as the candidate of Igbos just as his predecessor did but he insisted on a somewhat collective decision.

Igbo Mandate Congress Condemns Radio Biafra Hate Speeches, Demands Release of IPOB Protesters

November, 7th 2015

Igbo Mandate Congress has condemned the hate speeches against other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria which characterized the new face of Radio Biafra. Speaking with co-coordinators of the group at an emergency meeting in Enugu to evaluate the implication of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) successful protest march in Onitsha, Asaba, Owerri and Yenegoa on Friday, the Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress, Rev Obinna Akukwe, described the hate speeches as contrary to the spirit of Biafra.

According to Rev Akukwe” abusing the Hausa, the Fulani, and the Yoruba in the course of pursuing Biafra is anti-Christian. Christianity cannot support the dissemination of hate messages against fellow living beings created by God,and Igbos are predominantly Christians, rather anybody or group that wants Biafra should pursue it within the ambits of reasonable processes and international conventions.”
radio-biafra
Rev Akukwe described the protesters as people who have been deceived into solely blaming the Nigerian project for the insensitivity of South East Leaders. Clarifying further, he said that “since 1999 Igbos have occupied positions of Senate Presidency, Deputy Senate Presidency, Party Chairmanship, Secretary to the Government of Nigeria, and yet the al important Enugu-Onitsha Highway, Enugu-Nsukka  Highway from Opi to 9th Mile and Enugu-Port-Harcourt Highway from the Okigwe end   are the worst roads in Nigeria due to their selfish representations at the center.

I believe there is a mix up somewhere and the leaders of APC we have contacted have denied ever discussing such a matter. I have come here and seen with my eyes that indeed some terrorists are in Ekwuluobia and no Igbo man is happy about that.”

Zik’s Son’s Burial: Gov Obiano, Obi of Onitsha Dare Buhari

The attempt by President Muhammadu Buhari to give Owelie Chukwuma Azikiwe, first son of Nigeria’s first President, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe a befitting burial had run into stormy waters as the trio of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, HRH Alfred Achebe, Obi of Onitsha and Ambassador Emeka Azikiwe (Owelle’s sibling) had fixed an impromptu burial aimed at ensuring that Buhari’s presence is frustrated.

The stance of the trio had caused great tension within the Azikiwe family and Onitsha leaders that some groups had vowed to boycott the burial slated for Saturday, 12th of September, 2015, if efforts to get Buhari in physical attendance is deliberately frustrated.

Speaking with Rev Obinna Akukwe, Director General, Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC) over the crisis, the youngest brother of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Akunne Ara Azikiwe decried the burial fixed for the 12th as “an attempt to bury the late Owelle like a fowl in order to punish him in death for his friendship with Buhari”.

President Buhari Vows To Give Azikiwe’s Son A Befitting Burial

7th July, 2015

·         Defies stance of disgruntled Igbo leaders
·         Sends Senator Ngige to Bring Situation Report on Ziks House
President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to give the Owelle Chukwuma Azikiwe, the demised first son of Nigeria’s first President and Zik of Africa, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, a befitting burial. President Buhari stated this on Saturday4th July at Aso Villa when he met with a delegation from the Azikiwe Family who came to brief him on their preparedness for the event. He promised to do everything possible to ensure a smooth burial of a gentleman nationalist.
Those who met with Buhari at Aso Vil;la include Nwamulunamma Onuora Azikiwe (Spiritual Head of the Family), Akunne Arah Azikiwe (youngest brother of Rt Hon Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe) Engr Chukwuma Njaka (PA to late Owelle Chukwuma Azikiwe) and Senator Dr Chris Ngige (ex-Governor Anambra State)
This was against the backdrop of disturbing information that some elements within the Onitsha ruling house have teamed up with some disgruntled politicians in the South East to ensure that the late Zik’s son is buried like a fowl. The grouse of these disgruntled politicians is that Owelle Chukwuma Azikiwe preferred Buhari style of politics of integrity and honesty to the incumbent bandwagon and urged Igbos to support him.. Unfortunately, Owelle died after Buhari’s Victory and they decided to use the occasion of his death to punish him in the grave yard.

Azikiwe Family Asks Igbos to Support Buhari: Says Buhari’s votes were stolen in the South East

* Jonathan is a last minute hero of democracy
* Buhari’s votes were stolen in the South East
* Igbos have nothing to fear
The family of the first republic President of Nigeria, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe had called upon all Nigerians and Igbos in particular to lend support to the new President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking when a delegation of leaders of Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC) led by its Director General, Rev Obinna Akukwe paid a condolence visit to the family, over the demise of Zik’s first son and Owelle of Onitsha, Dr Chukwuma Azikiwe, the youngest brother to the first republic President, Akunne Ara Azikiwe said that “Buhari is the man that will take Nigeria to the next levels of its existence”.
ENDS post election poll suggests more Igbo voted BuhariAkunne Ara Azikiwe who led the delegation that represented the Azikiwe family during the inauguration of President Buhari on Friday told the delegation of IMC shortly after the inauguration that “it is only Buhari that has the will to take on the cabals that held Nigeria hostage and break their stranglehold. Obasanjo had the goodwill but along the line he failed to live up to expectations. Yar’adua was not able to accomplish much due to his illness. Jonathan had the good intentions too sycophants held him hostage and ruined what could have been a transformation agenda for Nigeria.”

Going further, Ara Azikiwe said that “ the late Owelle of Onitsha, Chukwuma Azikiwe had always maintained a cordial relationship with the incumbent President Buhari which had spanned over two decades and the Owelle had sometimes visited Buhari in Kaduna because the family believed that a lot of ideals for which Rt Hon Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, the Zik of Africa stood for has rubbed off on Buhari. Zik never believed in corruption and elitist politics and always believed in government getting to the grassroots, these ideals are displayed by Buhari ‘’

N5 Billion Scam on Jonathan: Igbo Leaders Condemn Ohanaeze

 Feb 27, 2015

Igbo leaders in the nineteen northern states of Nigeria have continued to condemn the manner the National Executive of Ohanaeze  Ndigbo scammed President Goodluck Jonathan of N5 billion naira in return for second term endorsement.  They have threatened to expose the successive culture of corruption and betrayal of Ndigbo for pecuniary gains that has made the national body a disgrace to the South East.
Speaking with the Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC) Rev Obinna Akukwe in Abuja yesterday, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Kaduna State Chapter who is also the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the 19 Northern States, Barrister A.C. Amechi described what Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Body did to President Jonathan as scam. According to him “ it is wickedness to scam an innocent man( Jonathan) of  billions of naira , share it among yourselves and not remit  a single kobo  to any Ohanaeze Chapter in the North, yet you tell the man that all is in control among Igbos in the north”  The obviously infuriated Igbo leader in the north stated further that “ for Jonathan to get sizeable votes  in the north, he needs the mobilization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo who are the grassroots leaders and not these people sitting comfortably in the East and Abuja”  Barrister Amechi asked those who scammed the President to return back his money.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Sharing of Jonathan’s N5 billion Endorsement Gift Creates More Crisis

Feb 17, 3015

·         Northern Chapter Presidents Rejects Endorsement
·         Igbo Leaders Accused of embezzling  fund from the top
·         Rtd IGP Mike Okiro saves Ohanaeze leaders from shame , pays hotel bills
The crisis generated by Jonathan’s N5 billion naira endorsement gift is increasing by the day as more groups within the body accuses Igariwey led faction  of scamming them. Ohanaeze Ndigbo had earlier endorsed Jonathan for a second term in Enugu two weeks ago after which pandemonium, fracas, tearing of dresses and biting off of fingers broke out at the secretariat over the sharing of the excess money. Among the groups that have rejected the earlier endorsement of Jonathan as a result of the sharing formula of the N5 billion naira gift is Igbo Delegates Assembly (IDA) in the 19 Northern States. This group was given N20 million naira to share among the 19 states of the north and FCT and each State got N1 million naira. IDA is alleging that the N20 million naira was the money Senator Hope Uzodimma promised them a year ago which Ohanaeze seized all these while.

President-General of the IDA, Chief S.N. Iyamah; and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Auston Ifedinezi, in a communiqué at the end of its meeting in Abuja called on all Igbo in the North to remain wherever they are and to collect their Permanent Voter Cards.
They claimed that they were not given a dime from the N5 Billion naira from Jonathan despite being at the Ohanaeze Secretariat Enugu when the money was conveyed in vans. IDA have asked Igbos in the north to vote either Buhari or Jonathan, according to their conscience in  line with the directives of Ohanaeze Elders Council and Ohanaeze Caretaker Committee. The Igariwey led leadership is plotting to dissolve the IDA in the north for exposing the N5 billion naira gift. Leaders  of the group told Rev Akukwe in Abuja  that they have information that few  single persons (names withheld) smiled home with between N100 to N200 million naira and  one very big shot was given N300 million naira while the entire IDA in the north were given N20 million naira to go and share.

Jonathan’s N5 Billion Naira Endorsement Gift Tears Ohanaeze to Piec

February 10, 2015

  • 19 Northern States Chapters Presidents Stranded in Enugu
  • Igbo leaders kick against endorsement gift while Youths Rejoice
  • Ohaneze Elders Council Condemns Endorsement of Jonathan

Pandemonium broke out at the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Secretariat Enugu on Tuesday during the sharing of the huge sums of money   given to the Igariwey led leadership of the body  for endorsing Jonathan’s second term.  Many persons who were at the endorsement venue smiled home with some tens and hundreds of thousands of naira and a few got some millions of naira.  Some obviously greedy  beneficiaries of the Ohanaeze national cake who felt shortchanged in the sharing formula had revealed to members of Ohanaeze Elders Council and  other Igbo leaders  in Nigeria and diaspora that Jonathan released N5billion naira and their leaders hid more than eighty percent of the money for themselves while releasing pittances to them.
This grumbling  group within the Igariwey led Ohanaeze Ndigbo Executive claimed that those who cornered a lion share of what was given by Jonathan campaign group includes Chief Emmanuel Iwunyanwu, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya , Prof Goddy Uwazulike among others. They also fingered Chief Joe Nwaorgu and Chief O.A.U Onyema Secretary General and Deputy President General of Ohanaeze respectively, as those that gave those pittances not commensurate with their status as leaders and youth leaders in the organization. These men are threatening to expose all the secret deals from the secret Aso Villa meeting of January 12th to the events of Monday night if they are not adequately compensated.

Theme; Contentious Issue of Igbo Presidency; What Ohanaeze Must Tell Jonathan

Event Date 8th May, 2014

President Jonathan had come again for Igbo votes ahead of the emergence of successful All Progressive Congress (APC) Primaries which picked General Muhammadu Buhari as flagbearer. With the emergence of Buhari as APC candidate, it is obvious that it is no more tea party for the PDP, and one of the places they are farming seriously is Ohanaeze Ndigbo as avenue for much cherished Igbo votes. I want to use this opportunity to reproduce a text of the lecture I delivered at the burial of the former Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, Ambassador Ralph Uwechue, on the occasion of a colloquium held in his honour at Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Secretariat, Enugu on the 8th of May, 2014. I do believe that Igbo leaders must negotiate with Jonathan on what he will do for the over 60 million Igbos in Nigeria and overseas or else they can as well look elsewhere in APC or UPC for alternative.

Being  An Address Presented By Rev Obinna Akukwe on the Occasion of Colloquium in Honor of Ambassador Raph Uwechue, Late President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide on the 8th of May, 2014, at Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Secretariat, Park Avenue Enugu

Today, we are gathered together to celebrate the demise of Ambassador Raph Uwechue, a beloved Igbo Leader and former president of this apex Igbo Organization.  Ambassador Uwechue believed in the actualization of Igbo Presidency after the turn of the South-South. He told me that on a few occasions we had discussions on the topic. As we remember the ideals of this Igbo Icon, who refused to betray Biafra during the unfortunate civil war, despite entreaties from Nigeria, the best farewell we can give to this great son is to stand by the ideals of Igbo Presidency after Jonathan tenure for which he stood.

Boko Haram plots to invade Southern Nigeria, shift 2015 elections and fight – Group tells Jonathan

Event Date 24 Dec 2014
President Obasanjo ignored our warning on Boko Haram, Ohanaeze Reacts
A group, New Foundation of National Understanding (NFNM), which has retired military officer and activists amongst their fold, has called upon Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan to postpone the 2015 Presidential elections and prepare for war against agents that wants to invade Southern Nigeria using Boko Haram. The group alleged that there is a plot by some few disgruntled politician and religious extremists of northern extraction to extend the reign of terror of Boko Haram to the South East, South West and South West, causing disaffection among Igbos and Yorubas while Boko Haram takes over the entire South on a religious agenda. The Group claimed that their petition is already before the President and Commander-in Chief as well as Heads of Security Agencies.

The leader of the group and a retired military officer, Mr Chris Okigbo explained this when he led a delegation on a courtesy call on the Director General of Igbo Mandate Congress (IMC) and chieftain of General Association ofall Igbo Christian Organizations and Ministers(GAAICOM), Rev Obinna Akukwe at Abuja during the weekend. Mr Okigbo informed the Igbo Mandate Congress leaders that Boko Haram was meant to be another pogrom against the South in angst over the emergence of Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan as President of Nigeria.
